Categories

The Categories page lists all categories in the selected project. Categories define different areas in a project that can be owned by a Vault user. When an item is added to Vault and assigned a Category, that item will be assigned to the category owner by default.

The Categories Table contains the following columns:

      Name – Lists the Category name.

      Dev Owner – Lists the login name of the developer who owns the category.

      Modify – Click the modify icon to make modifications to the category.

      Delete – Click the delete icon to delete a category.

Add Project Categories

To add a Vault category, click the Add button.

Enter the Category name in the Name field. Category names can contain any character except < or >.

Select a Vault user from the Dev Owner list who will be responsible for the items in that Category.  Next, select the Resolver that will verify that the items were fixed.

Click Submit to return to the Categories page with the updated information. Click Cancel to return to the Categories page with no updates.

 

Modify Project Categories

To modify a category, click on the Modify icon associated with that category.

The name of the category, the developer responsible for that category and the resolver can be modified.

Click Submit to return to the Categories page with the updated information. Click Cancel to return to the Categories page with no updates.

Delete Category

To delete a category, click the Delete icon associated with the category you want to remove.

A confirmation page asks if you are sure you want to delete that category. Selecting Delete will remove the category. Selecting Cancel will leave the category intact.

Click Submit to return to the Categories page with the updated information. Click Cancel to return to the Categories page with no updates.
