Variable Number: A numeric identification ranging from 1 to 1,000,000 for a variable allowing you to quickly reference a variable.  By default, when a list of variables is displayed it is shown in variable number order.    Variables are referenced by number when using many WIMS functions. 

• Variables number range from 1 to 1,000,000
• Variable numbers don't need to be consecutive
• Variable numbers cannot be duplicated
