Q13736 - INFO: Inventory Entry, User Defined Fields Tab
Tab allows you to enter User Defined Fields (UDF) within Inventory Entry.  These fields can be used to track any additional information about the inventory record that you require.  For example, you may want to track the manufacture's part number for the item to make it easier to reorder.  You simply need to rename the User Defined field to  "manufacture part number"  and enter your information.

Double click on the field caption to rename the field or use User Defined Field setup to rename and setup a list of values for the field.

When you rename a User Defined field, you change the caption for that field on ALL inventory records, in other words it applies to all records not just the one you are on.  The text you enter in the associated field will be unique for each record.

FIELDS:

9 Inactive Fields: Enter up to 50 characters of label/caption for the field.

Note: The information you enter is plain text – similar to what you might type in the Notes Tab.  However, you cannot enter as much info as you would in the Notes Tab, you have a maximum of 50 characters in the UDF.

1.     In the Inventory Entry UDF Tab double-click on the word “Inactive”.

2.     The “Set user define Caption” window opens.  Enter the label/caption for the field.  An example might be “Manufacture Part Number”.

NOTE:  The caption is limited to 25 characters, including spaces between words.
