In order to configure source connection from the interface, click Configuration and select Source Configuration.

The next screen will display parameters such as Database TypeConnection Information, Default Logbook Id, etc. It will also allow you to Test Connection:

  • Database Type - The type of the FlexSystems FlexOps database that stores the FlexOps data.
  • Data Source - this field specifies, in loose terms, the "Database/Datasource server name" where your FlexOps system is configured to store data.
  • OLE DB Provider - the database driver.
  • Database - the name of the database on the SQL Server that stores the FlexOps data. For MS Access, leave it blank.
  • Username and Password - these fields are only mandatory if the connection to the FlexOps system requires them. These fields should be blank if not used.
  • Connection Timeout in Seconds - how many seconds the program should wait when establishing a connection to the Wonderware InSQL server.
  • Command Timeout in Seconds - specifies how many seconds the program should wait for a query to complete before aborting the operation.
  • Customizations - normally not used.
  • Add Notes to Logbook - Check the box if you want to add any notes in the FlexOps database to logbooks in the WIMS database.
  • Default Logbook Id - Notes from the FlexOps database will be stored in the Logbook Id specified in the external_id_logbook field in the Tbl_Routes_Points_Questions table in the FlexOps database. If this Id doesn't exist in the WIMS database, the notes will be stored in the Default Logbook Id specified here. If the Default Logbook Id doesn't exist in WIMS either than 0 will be used as the Id.

Buttons:

Test to see if the connection settings are valid and the interface is able to connect to the FlexSystems FlexOps server. Does NOT Apply or Save the settings.

The other buttons are explained in Using Common Buttons.
