WWDDE Utility gives Error 282 – Cant perform the DDE operation.

Solution:

1.HistData is not running.  Start HistData.exe.

2.No tags crossed referenced to an OPS 32 Variable.  Add some Tag Names to some variables.

3.HistData is running but not connected to the Wonderware database.  This one can happen if HistData is fired in the start up of the computer.  Because HistData starts much faster than Wonderware Intouch, the database is not ready to be connected to by HistData and it does not give an error!  Take HistData out of the computer’s Startup routine.  I think Wonderware can be told to fire the HistData program when it is ok to do so.
